Invitations have been issued

The first round of invitations have been issued. This year’s selection committee used a combination of rankings, resume and home country to select the international teams to be invited. The committee sought to maximize the number of countries participating. The US selections were much more difficult. Using a combination of rankings and resume, the committee selected 4 teams to participate. One invitation, the Eastport Yacht Club selection, was given to JoAnn Fisher, an EYC member. Sailing with JoAnn is another EYC member, Olympian, Liz Merrifield Filter. Since this year’s Sundance Cup was cancelled, the committee issued a 4th US invitation. Invitations must be accepted (by posting the entry bond of $450 US) by March 21, 2006. Any unaccepted invitations will be issued to wait listed teams.
