Friday brought a slow start to the day with light morning winds, but patience paid off as conditions improved by midday. The fleet jumped into action with the exciting “Queen of the Castle” placement races, followed by intense semi-final matchups. In Pairing 1, top-seeded Nicole Breault continued her dominant run, sweeping Juliet Costanzo 3-0 to secure her place in the finals.

The second semi-final saw Anna Östling and Allie Blecher locked in a tight and tactical battle. The two teams traded wins in closely contested races, but it was Blecher who found her rhythm and closed out the series 3-1. To keep things interesting, one of the final races was momentarily spiced up by a surprise guest, the Annapolis pirate ship cruised straight through the racecourse! Luckily, it didn’t cause any disruptions, and the sailors stayed focused through the unexpected entertainment.

The stage is now set: Breault vs. Blecher in the 2025 Santa Maria Cup Final.

Saturday promises to bring high-stakes racing and a spectacular finish to a fantastic week in Annapolis.
