Marie sails from the Gothenburg Royal Yacht Club, and concentrates almost solely on match racing. Currently ranked number 1 in the World, Marie finished 2nd at the Women’s World Match Race Championships in both 2000 and 2001, won the Nordic Championship, the Swedish Championship, and the International Women’s Match Race Criterium in Calpe, Spain in 2001. When not sailing, Marie is a midwife at Neoventa Medical working with ST-analysis of fetal ECG.

Liz is a Public Health Microbiologist with the California Department of Health Services. In 2001 Liz was very active on the Match Race circuit, winning the Rolex Osprey Cup in St. Petersburg, FL, finishing 6th in the BoatU.S. Santa Maria Cup, 9th at the International Women’s Match Race Criterium in Calpe, Spain, and winning the Sundance Cup. Liz also skippered a Great Lakes 70 in the Chicago Mackinac Race and the Port Huron-Mackinac Race.

At 16, Giulia is by far the youngest competitor. She placed 5th at the 2001 Women’s World Championships, and won the Italian Women’s Match Race Championship in 2001. Giulia sails for the Circolo Vela Toscolano Maderno.

An avid match racer, already this year Sandy has won the Sundance Cup, and last year finished 7th in the BoatU.S. Santa Maria Cup, and 3rd in the Rolex Osprey Cup. Sandy also fleet races her J/22, and finished 12th in the Rolex International Women’s Keelboat Championship. When she is not on the water sailing or running races, she is a software developer for Booz Allen Hamilton working at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center.

Sailing from Southwestern Yacht Club in San Diego, Charlie is the Director of Sailing for the California Maritime Academy. Charlie finished 4th at the Rolex Osprey Cup in 2001, skippered in US Sailing’s Prince of Wales Match Racing Championship, and finished 3rd in the Sundance Cup.

A Senior Business Manager for Union Pacific Railroad and sailing out of the Houston Yacht Club, Deborah is coming to the BoatU.S. Santa Maria Cup in the slot reserved for the Sundance Cup (she finished 4th). A very active Melges 24 racer, she also finished 3rd at the Sundance Cup in 1999.

Carol works as a freelance writer and graphic designer while spending lots of time on the water. As Eastport Yacht Club’s entry this year, Carol has been immersing herself and her team in their Yngling campaign. Carol is currently 2nd in the ISAF Yngling rankings. She has crewed in the BoatU.S. Santa Maria Cup for the last 3 years, and she and her team were second at the Yngling ranking regatta in Miami this year, as well as winning the Miami Olympic Classes Regatta.

Cap, a French citizen, is currently living the US. She was the tactician abourd the 19th place team in the Rolex International Women’s Keelboat Championship, and is active on an Australian Mumm 30 team, placing 12th at the Worlds, and 1st at Key West Race Week.
